This is probably not news to any Mac purists out there, but Apple just released a headless, keyboard-and-mouseless Mac that starts at just $499. My advice on this box: Don’t buy it. Not yet.
Apple is no doubt going to sell this little ditty for that price for the remainder of the quarter, and possibly into the next, but I’m sure that after MacOS 10.4 drops, expect the price to as well.
My guess is that Apple’s going to use this box to corner the HD video revolution in the same way that they used the iPod to corner the digital music distribution business. For a really good explination of why, check here.
